Customer Reviews
This company initially was easy to work with until after the install. My system didn’t pass county inspection. I asked Purelight to come out to fix the issue. All I got was excuses as to why they couldn’t. Several weeks later the system is still not repaired and I still don’t have an answer as to when they will be coming out to fix it.
Easy to work with!

Sales woman came to our door with a clear “no soliciting” sign as well as a baby sleeping sign attached to our door. She stated “I’m just delivering free information.” This is still soliciting. If you can’t respect our posted signage then how can we expect you to respect us as customers? Have some common decency.
All staff have been very friendly and helpful.
Great! Every person we dealt with in this process made it clear and easy to transition. Well worth switching to solar 👍
Justin was great as a sales rep, install team was good. They did forget connectors and then we evidently just fell off the books for a month. But a couple calls and they were back out to finish. Chase was great to work with on setting up the DTU. Only real complaint is communication with Marcelina was spotty and responses delayed, sometimes 3 weeks. All in all I feel it could have been a lot better experience with just a few small steps taken.
Woohoo!! More than like, I am gonna sound weird, but I Love PureLight Power! Terrific sales team, installation team, follow up team and Chase our video-call walkthrough person for our Solar System monitoring procedures.!!! Woohoo!
Well Done PureLight Power, Well done!
Every one on this Solar Panel journey has been awesome to work with. From Ryan who first introduced us to Purelight Solar systems to Chase who just wrapped up our phone monitoring setup and everyone in between thank you so much for being so informative and professional !😀
Overall, our experience was great. We just turned our system on a few days ago, so still waiting on seeing the production. Everyone has been really nice and knowledgeable. Destiny, our sales rep was fantastic and a huge reason why we chose to go with purelight.
We only have two complaints to share to give a really honest review: 1. There were some delays in installation that without my partner calling and checking in (not just with purelight but also the city and the power company) we may have waited way longer. This is the nature of different offices having tasks to be done. I would encourage anyone to take initiative to ensure things are moving forward instead of waiting around to find out they had the wrong email on file for the city…
2. We were shuffled around and would get texts and emails from so many different people at purelight. This made it confusing at times about what was happening or who to contact with questions. It would have been nice to have one case manager.
We have had Purelight Solar since May 2023. While the sales pitch by Josh Smith and panel/electrical install were awesome, communications and scheduling by the office was consistently poor.
Despite those concerns, in early 2024, we referred Purelight (Via Josh Smith) to our daughter and son-in-law. They were living in a newly built home in southern Oregon and had an interest in solar. I have apologized more to them for referring them to Purelight than I have ever apologized to anyone in my life.
They signed with Purelight over 3-months ago. Panels and electrical went in quickly and efficiently. When the electrician left, he said they were good to go, and the only thing needed was a county inspection and PPL’s activation. That was over 2 1/2 months ago.
Several weeks later, after ZERO communications from Purelight, they called the office to inquire about the inspection and PPL activation. They were told the main circuit panel needed to be modified (I believe a derater), which would require electricians for the work and PPL to shut power off to the home. Purelight had no explanation when they were told the electrician said everything was ready when he departed, or the fact no one called to update them.
Finally, they were notified they had a date for PPL and the electricians to perform the work. They made significant personal arrangements (Daycare, work impacts) so they were ready for electricians and PPL to perform the work. When no one arrived at the scheduled time, they called Purelight and were told they did not need a derater and that they only needed an inspection and PPL activation. They made significant personal arrangements to be ready for the electrician and PPL. Through it all, Purelight never bothered to call and say it was not happening.
A week later, the county did the inspection and Purelight told him he was now in the 10-14 day window for PPL to arrive and turn solar on. Now 11 days since the county inspection, on 05/15/24, they received an email from PPL saying Purelight provided the wrong address, so a new contract was started, and he was now back in the waiting cycle for PPL.
My son-in-law and daughter are levelheaded community professionals, and they have communicated effectively and calmly with Purelight at every failure point. But they are exhausted and have thrown in the towel with Purelight.
So, why am I writing a review? They are my second referral and the last. I am tired of apologizing for referring people to Purelight. I wrote an email (and texted Josh) to Purelight last week expressing all of the points I am making in this review. Now, a week later, not a single response from anyone at Purelight. Likewise, my son-in-law reached out to Purelight last week and the response? Nothing!
They are now inching towards 4-months since they signed and almost 3-months since panel install and are still producing zero solar.
April and May have been outstanding solar producers for us this year, so they have lost out on significant solar credit potential. To make matters worse, Purelight has done absolutely nothing to make amends…not even an apology or explanation.
Shop around! They are not the only game in town and once the panels hit the roof, you’re stuck with poor communications and staff who are incapable of scheduling but excellent at ghosting.
Had our solar panels installed about a month ago now. The whole install process was fairly easy minus a few issues and miscommunications on their end. The issues began when we requested the installation of a sub-panel that they completely screwed up on. They messed up our entire electrical panel. I’m not even sure everything is up to code as we are now missing breakers to shut off certain parts of the house.
I recently had to install a fan in one of the bedrooms and had to shut off power to the entire house instead of just a few bedrooms like it was before they installed. They also said they would install the panel on the inside of the garage but instead installed it on the outside, assuming it was just easier for them this way.
I have called their customer service multiple times and have multiple tickets in with them to no resolve. Their customer service is absolutely useless. I am left feeling that they do not care about their customers in the least, as long as they have what they need from you, MONEY. They were super pushy on the install and called/texted almost daily until they were done, now crickets.
They also promised 70% production from the panels and when we received the final paperwork, which I have yet to even sign, it showed only 63% production. We were never once presented the number 63% as this would have changed our decision. Their sales are very deceitful and misleading.
I would NOT recommend using Purelight at all and instead would encourage people to stay away and look for an alternative. We are left with something completely different from what we were promised, left with absolutely no efforts on their part to make it right. STAY AWAY!!
Extremely shady practices made by Josh. Him and I had an agreement on 95% production right. He came to me saying that I needed about 11k worth of electrical upgrades as well, I said okay. I figured they would rerun my credit and get a higher loan to cover that change. (they didn’t as I called Goodleap to verify they never tried to get more) Turns out he pulled a fast one on me and dropped my panel production to 65% in the same change order for the electrical. IN NO WAY WOULD I HAVE SAID YES TO 65%!!! I called a year after for my “audit” thinking man they are going to owe me a lot of panels! Thats when I learned about the 65% and was told they maybe owed me ONE panel. So what does that mean for me? Here let me break it down to you. I am stuck with a $280 dollar monthly bill to pay off these solar panels that I got so that I didn’t have such harsh bills during the winter. I am now getting a power bill all year long as well from Pacific Power. Sure it saves me a little money, maybe one month out of the year… I called josh out for what he did and he tried to offer me a job working audits for them since I “know my numbers” and to me that felt like hush money. I have called several times and tried to talk to someone to help me and It always ends up me leaving a message and never getting any response back. So I’m here now, after getting completely screwed over by someone who came off super trustworthy just so that he could get his free tesla for the most sales. You know who I am josh, and you know you did wrong. I wish your company would at least make this right, but we know how long this battle has been going on. You have my name, my number, my tickets, Id love for someone to call me and give me a solution to this that isnt just “too bad so sad”. You guys did this, you guys can fix this.
Very rude person when you call.I would never go to this company. They’re all about just making the money
Everyone has been very nice & helpful on this journey of solar.
outstanding folks to work with
I worked with Trevor out of the Bend PureLight office, which is linked to their Medford location – and the whole process was so smooth and everyone was so friendly, professional, honest, and downright efficient! Trevor was awesome, the installers also awesome, quick and clean. The longest part of the process was getting inspections completed, and getting Pacific Power to install our net meter. We are just starting to see how much power we are adding back into the grid, and so excited to be creating our own power!!
