Reviews
Positive Reviews
- “Very skeptical at first probably like everyone else. The sales team with Dylan, answered all my questions from the actual solar panels and equipment to the service and warranty I would expect. He was outstanding knowledgeable and readily available for my many calls. As for the team the electricians Ray and Jarret went the extra mile for panel placement, conduit hidden very well wiring in the attic on a hot day. Both extremely knowledgeable for many more questions. The roofers Jason and Juan were neat did a fantastic job and I am pleased with the appearance. 6 hours installed perfectly. Unfortunately the slowest process waiting for RI Energy to change out my meter. I would highly recommend RTP over anyone else. They truly are a team.”
- “Major error early on ROOFTOP was able to secure insurance funds to replace my roof. However, due to some glitches in the office, the roof shingles were put on without the needed plywood subsurface I reported that the shingles were looking very poorly and ROOFTOP came out to repair, not believing what I thought needed to be done, which was to replace the roof, but once they realize that the shingles were installed without the sub plywood base, it was quickly corrected. Other than that they’re an excellent company.”
- “I can’t say enough about the service from Rooftop Power. They were very professional and courteous throughout the entire process. They tell you what to expect during each phase, and they take care of all the leg work.”
Negative Reviews
- “Very slow in execution Do not hire rooftop power company to install solar unless you have a written agreement to complete in negotiated time. They are poor in communicating with customer unless they want something. Project has stated 15 months ago and still not in production.”
- “Rooftop Power has received mixed reviews regarding their customer service and installation procedure. A few clients spoke well about them, praising their knowledgeable staff and timely installation. Other clients complained of delayed installations, difficulties obtaining permits, and incomplete equipment activations.”
- “Customers have said the firm can be trusted, the employees are helpful and informed, and the rates are fair. On the downside, consumers have voiced dissatisfaction with the length of service waits and the lack of information provided to them during such periods.”

Payment & Financing Options
- Solar Loans: These loans fund the purchase and installation of solar panels. They can be either secured by the solar panels you’re financing, which means the lender can repossess the panels if you default, or unsecured through online lenders. Interest rates on solar loans generally range from 4% to 7% but can go up to around 36%.
- Lease or Power Purchase Agreement (PPA): In this case, a third-party (like Rooftop Power) owns and maintains your system. You pay a fixed monthly amount to the solar company, which is typically lower than your current electricity bill. This allows you to benefit from solar power without the upfront cost of purchasing the system.
- Cash: If you have the funds available, you can pay for your solar system upfront. This option can save you money in the long run as you won’t have to pay interest on a loan.
