Tried to work with them through BEC to replace an existing 8k system. Could not get a transparent estimate from their sales team – only a fixed installed price with no breakdown of cost. Asking price was double the market value of the panels + micro inverters with no site survey – and they blamed BEC for “not being able to adjust the price per KWH due to contract”;. Communication was great at first, but became spotty when I started asking questions. I’m sure they do a great job installing, but you might want to explore other options before you pull the trigger – 50% over cost is a bit high on the margin IMO. Buyer beware.

I am very happy with my solar panel system. I considered a few different solar installers, but I ultimately chose Atma because they prioritize engineering over aggressive sales tactics. Unlike some other companies that turned me off with slick, high-pressure approaches, I didn’t experience that with Atma. Supporting American-made products is important to me, and Atma offered both Mission Solar panels (made here in San Antonio) and QCELLS (manufactured in Georgia). I opted for QCELLS panels paired with Enphase IQ8 inverters.

Atma provided proposals for two different system sizes, as well as a separate proposal for batteries. I decided on the larger system without batteries—it wasn’t the cheapest option, but it wasn’t really expensive either and it offered the best value considering the quality of the equipment, the installation process, and the peace of mind that comes from working with a reputable local company. Their installation team took two days to complete the work, and their diligent inspector verified that everything was installed correctly. A couple of minor issues were promptly addressed, reinforcing my confidence in their thoroughness.

Permitting went more smoothly than expected, and the system was up and running ahead of schedule. While battery backup is still a bit pricey for me right now, I definitely plan to reach out to Atma when I’m ready to add batteries.

Atma Energy did a fantastic job on my solar project. I would recommend them to friends and family. They were on time, easy to work with, knowledge, and competitive on pricing.

My wife and I are very happy to have worked with Atma Energy for the installation of our solar system (18kW pv) and whole home backup (30kWh of Enphase batteries) on our house, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the initial sales process to the final installation, every step was executed with excellence and professionalism.

Excellent Sales Process:

Atma’s sales team was exceptional from the get-go. They were knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely interested in understanding our needs and providing tailored solutions. Unlike some other companies we had interacted with, there was no pressure tactics or pushy sales pitches. Instead, they took the time to educate us about their proposed solutions and patiently answered all our questions, ensuring we felt confident in our decision to move forward with them.

Great Technical Acumen:

Throughout the planning and design phase, we had the pleasure of working with Atma’s highly skilled technical team. They demonstrated a deep understanding of solar technology and were able to customize a system that perfectly suited our energy requirements and the layout of my property. As you can see from the photos, our roof has a wild number of pitches and slopes. Their attention to detail and commitment to delivering the most efficient solution possible were truly impressive and gave me peace of mind knowing that our investment was in capable hands.

Permitting Process:

Atma made the permitting process effortless. They efficiently handled all paperwork and coordination with the electrical company, city officials, and our HOA. We experienced no delays or complications, allowing the project to proceed seamlessly.

Professionalism of Electricians and Installers:

When it came time for the installation, Atma’s electricians and installers were equally impressive. They arrived promptly and worked diligently to ensure that the installation process was completed with the utmost precision and attention to detail – sometimes not completing their work until well after dark. Not only were they highly skilled at their craft, but they also conducted themselves with professionalism and respect for my property. They kept the work area tidy and minimized any disruptions to our daily routine, which we really appreciated since we work from home.

Incredible Responsiveness:

One aspect of Atma that truly stood out to me was their responsiveness throughout the entire project. Whether it was answering emails or texts promptly, addressing any concerns we had, or providing regular updates on the progress of the installation, their team was always quick to respond and eager to assist. It was clear that they valued open communication and were committed to ensuring my complete satisfaction every step of the way.

Our experience with Atma Energy was nothing short of exceptional. From their excellent sales process to their technical expertise, professionalism, and responsiveness, they exceeded my expectations in every aspect. We would highly recommend Atma to anyone considering a solar project.

At the beginning of our first summer in San Antonio, I got 5 or 6 quotes for Solar Panels. Of course these were all mostly guess work since we didn’t have enough usage data to project our family’s needs. Midway through our second summer, I went back to my top two companies for revised quotes with an additional year of data.

I’m pleased that we choose to go with ATMA. At the writing of this review, we had 39 panels and 2 back up batteries installed a little over a year ago. Even with almost double the projected rain/cloud days in that year (who would have guessed in SA?), our production was outstanding. And the one time we lost power, the back up batteries kicked into action immediately – it is great peace of mind going into the crazy winter season again!

We’ve also had great customer service anytime we’ve had a question (thanks Jacquie!) after install. As someone who is not electronically or mechanically savvy, I’ve also appreciated the patience and quick follow up anytime there has been a potential issue, including:

– trouble shooting and fixing something-I-didn’t-really-understand directly with enphase on our behalf,

– quickly adjusting a switched wire that was miscalculating our production to the app (this didn’t affect our actual solar production, just what we could see in the app), and

– investigating a roof leak that was near our panels (this one seems to be the chimney/roof, but many thanks to Rodrigo for climbing up there and problem solving!)

On a separate note, it was clear during my initial research that some of the sales people I met with were “little lady”ing me. With ATMA we worked directly with the CEO on our proposal and contract. I very much appreciated his attention to detail and ability to explain the work in a non-condescending way, especially since he must be extremely busy. The respect we were shown throughout the process is very much appreciated by me and my husband – and the continued high level of customer service is outstanding.

I highly recommend ATMA for all your solar needs.

Atma Energy, and specifically Chris and Rodrigo, were first class in their customer service and transparency. We look forward to reaping the benefits of solar panels over the next few years, and I have them to thank for it. Both Rodrigo and Chris were very prompt and complete in their responses to all of my questions–we only had one hiccup: CPS initially approved one external box configuration, but then after Atma installed it, the CPS representative arrived on scene to give the final approval and rightly pointed out that the box configuration was in fact not up to specifications/regulations. Rodrigo was quick to get the fix approved, but due to a major shortage of electricians, it took Atma 29 days to send someone to our house to rectify the situation. Thankfully, it is now approved and running. Highly recommend this group.

I wanted to take a moment to review my experience installing a residential solar system with ATMA Energy. I manage Industrial Engineers for my job and have a general knowledge of business, improving efficiency and customer service. Like many first-time solar customers, I spent several months reviewing multiple solar companies in the San Antonio area to ensure I chose a reputable company that follows through, and that customers speak highly of. I ultimately chose ATMA Energy because it felt like a company of technical experts and Engineers vs. the traditional business model focused on marketing and sales to get in and out moving on to the next customer.

I am so glad I chose ATMA Energy. From the beginning, working with the sales team, Chris was awesome, patient, and knowledgeable about the technology and options that would work best. I originally went in with one idea and expectation for my setup to create a carport and patio with panels to knock out two birds with one project. To Chris’ credit he explained the pros and cons to my idea and was willing to execute my idea for an elevated ground mount. Chris even had his Engineering team draw up a mock estimate on what I wanted along with two more options that included a traditional roof mount as well as a ground mount in a better area on my property. Just like he had communicated, my original idea was a non-starter due to the expense of trenching from one side of the property to the opposite side where my meter is located. I appreciated the company’s willingness to not blow off my idea and share with me multiple proposals allowing the customer (me) to make the ultimate decision based on what was most important. The ultimate system I went with included 60 panels and 2 batteries. Thank you Chris!

Once the contract was signed things went quick, with introductions to the project managers and office manager, Dee who was excellent in communicating the next steps along with a projected timeline. Dee was awesome communicating at just the right amount and very responsive to my questions about progress. I know the city and CPS Energy can take time to review and approve plans and the original project was estimated to take about 10 weeks total. I was very fortunate that the plans were approved quickly and ultimately the overall project only took about 6 weeks, but that is abnormal.

Everyone I interacted with from the company was extremely patient and professional. Not once did anyone avoid me when I approached them and everyone was friendly and willing to explain their job from the delivery driver of my panels to the electricians and project manager. Rodrigo, the project manager, was easy to talk to and explained everything that was happening for the installation. Gerald, the lead electrician, was also helpful in explaining the installation process, testing and the overall system.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with the install and how well they cleaned the area once complete. They managed the inspections with the city and CPS, which both passed the first time. It is evident by the quality of their work and the clean install that this company and it’s employees take pride in their work ensuring a good reputation to drive future business.

Once the install was complete and I had a couple weeks to get acquainted with the system and mobile application, I was contacted by Jacquie, a customer service rep. She helped in answering any additional questions I had about the system and app as well as closing the loop on my overall experience and interest I may have in ongoing maintenance.

I can’t say enough good things about ATMA Energy and I would highly recommend this company for your solar installation!

My solar project was completed Aug 3rd, and I wanted to wait and see how well the system performed prior to writing a review. I always base a large purchase on “if I had the opportunity to make this decision again, would I make the same decision?” Absolutely! I am 100% satisfied with Atma Energy and the quality of work and system performance. When I decided to go solar, the next step was finding the “right” company for the job. I live in Georgetown and narrowed the search down to two companies, one in Austin and Atma Energy in San Antonio. After speaking with sales from both, I decided on Atma Energy. However, I was a bit concerned that Atma was still a “young” company, but my wife who was a Corporate Operations Officer for a software development company said to go with Atma “They will earn your business.” She was right and Atma Energy has been incredibly responsive in all areas from the sales process, engineering, installation, and follow up to ensure I am completely satisfied. I seldom give a 5 star rating, but Atma Energy definitely “earned” 5 Stars.

I did aloooot of research on solar companies. Atma was above all others in all aspects from funding to installation. Turnkey operation. Don’t waste your time with middle men. Very professional from sales/customer service to the install crews. I will be recommending Atma to all of my associates looking to get solar. A+

From start to finish, Supratim, Rodrigo and the entire team at ATMA were fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Gave us a realistic expectation of what adding solar would entail and answered our numerous questions and concerns. Very patient as we worked our way through the decision. Expertly worked our project (which was very large and not typical for a residential installation) through CPS, kept us informed the entire time. Once approved, installation was easy, on time, no surprises. We now have $20 CPS bills for a 10,000 square foot home!!!! I highly recommend ATMA for your project whether small or large. You can trust their word and their desire to do a great job!

From pre-sales to obtaining Austin Energy sign-off, my experience with ATMA was top-notch. I considered several Austin-based solar installers with longer track records as incorporated firms before settling on ATMA. Any apprehension that I initially had with the fact that they were a relatively new firm gave way as I progressed through the project (Solar + battery install). They were top in terms of price, responsiveness, and flexibility, and I’m delighted with the outcome.

Great experience with ATMA, from the initial emails (through the Energy Sage website) to the completion of the project. I chose ATMA after comparing quotes I received from half a dozen installers (again, through the Energy Sage website). First I looked at the reviews. I “dismissed” several installers based on a concerning number of 1, 2, and 3-star reviews. That left three in the running, of which ATMA had the best reviews – if memory serves, something like 37 5-star reviews out of 37 total reviews! As my next step I looked at the estimated costs of my project and the anticipated percentage of my total electrical needs met through the solar panels. ATMA came in with a bid that was a little higher than the other two, so I messaged them through the Energy Sage platform. The young lady informed me that they could reduce the price by $2000 because in February their business was slow, so they offered seasonal discounts. That brought ATMA down to the next-to-lowest bidder. I noted that in one of the other company’s bids, they anticipated a much higher-than-expected percentage of my electricity needs to be met with their system, despite their system being rated at a lower total wattage than the systems suggested by the other companies. I messaged that company and was told that the estimator had made “an arithmetic error.” I crossed that company off my list – who wants someone who makes errors in arithmetic designing their PV system? That left ATMA and one other company of the original six. What made the difference for me was that ATMA was based here in San Antonio, where my home is located. The other company, which also had good reviews and a slightly better price than ATMA, was based in a small city 150 miles from San Antonio, and while their crews frequently worked in SA, they weren’t based here. My concern – if I had a problem (say, a leak in the roof) after the installation, I couldn’t be sure that their crews would be available in town within a day or so. So I went with ATMA. I could not have been more pleased. The entire process went smoothly. They gave me an expected timeline for each stage. The construction was the quickest part, and was done soon after the signing of the contract. Then the scheduling game began with the inspections – both the City and CPS were involved, and getting them scheduled took nearly two months – but everything was accomplished well within the time frame established up front. I signed the contract at the end of February, and on the 6th of May, the CPS electrician finally hooked my system into the CPS electrical grid, and I was producing electricity. Even though we’ve had little but clouds in the 4 days since we went “live,” we’re still producing more electricity than we’re using – except, of course, at night! Only one small SNAFU. I waited all day – from 8-4 – for the City inspection to be done. Finally, at 4 PM, I called ATMA, and was told that the inspection had been canceled, that morning, for good reason. The only problem was that no one bothered to let me know, and I sat home all day for no reason. A strongly worded email that afternoon brought forth profuse apologies, a pledge that communication would not lapse again (it has not – they were good to their word), and a plan to make it right – they had the inspection lined up the very next day, and they bird-dogged the inspector until he provided an approval and a permit. No business partnership ever goes smoothly 100% of the time; this was the only off-note in an otherwise perfectly-played symphony by ATMA. The people were nice, the product was good, the installation was fast and correct, the price was right – ATMA did right by me, and I would go with them again if given the choice to make again. I enthusiastically recommend ATMA. Five stars. Thanks!

ATMA has been a total pleasure to work with. Every person has been responsive, knowledgeable, prompt… as of the things you want in a big purchase. The enphase products have also already proven themselves to be a totally worthwhile investment. I would absolutely recommend ATMA and enphase!

Wow! Three weeks from signing to producing energy with 21 panels. Incredible job by Josue, Dee and the installers. Communication was outstanding throughout each phase of the project. I Highly recommend Atma Energy for value and service.

ATMA really did a great job. They kept us informed every step of the way. We didn’t have to do a single thing really. Just told them what we wanted and they executed it rather quickly. Project began in may and was completed and approved by June. It’s neat to watch how much solar energy our panels produce and how much we are consuming on their Enphase monitoring system.

I recently had the pleasure of working with ATMA Energy for the installation of solar panels and battery backup at my house, and I must say the entire process was truly enjoyable. Right from the start, everyone I interacted with at ATMA was courteous, polite, knowledgeable, and professional.

What impressed me the most was their commitment to understanding my needs and incorporating my input into the system design. They carefully analyzed my usage data provided by the utility company, allowing them to create an accurate model for solar production and design the system accordingly. As an engineer myself, I was thrilled to geek out over the design process. ATMA went above and beyond by sharing graphs and detailed calculations, providing transparent reasoning behind their component selection. It was evident that they knew their stuff and they tailored the system to my specific requirements, instead of trying to apply a one size fits all approach like many other companies. They even did a 3D model of my house using a drone to help with the calculations, which was a nice touch.

I particularly appreciated that ATMA correctly sized the microinverters for the solar panels they recommended. Unlike other companies I consulted with, they didn’t try to undersize the microinverters to increase their own profits. Instead, ATMA focused on delivering a system that fully utilized its potential, ensuring optimal performance.

When it came to pricing, ATMA proved to be very reasonable. While they may not have been the cheapest option, their pricing fell within the lower 25% of the bids I received. I chose them not only for their competitive pricing but also because of their transparency and candor during the sales pitch. A special shoutout to Chuck Robinson for delivering an amazing sales presentation. He is a very knowledgeable sales person and he provided excellent advice and guidance along the way.

Overall, I can confidently say that ATMA Energy exceeded my expectations. From their professionalism and expertise to their commitment to customer satisfaction, they delivered a fantastic solar installation experience. I would highly recommend ATMA Energy to anyone considering solar solutions for their home or business.
