Customer Reviews
If I could post zero stars for Renova Energy, I would. I regret I ever let these people into our home. They quoted a guaranteed price for our monthly lease at $301.00, monthly with an average bill from SoCal Edison at around $30-32. Our electric bills actually average (with solar) at around $175.00 monthly, without any admission of the huge inaccuracy on their part. Now we’ve just received our new SunPower invoice for $309.00—not $301.00, monthly. Additionally, our energy production is almost a third of what was estimated. Don’t do business with Renova Energy / SunPower Financial.
Renova was timely, professional and right on schedule. John Coladonato, our energy consultant, was very informative. He stopped by our home when the installation was complete to make certain we knew.how to us the app.
Worst company I have ever worked for extremely unprofessional they hired 12 of us at the same time and fired us before they had to pay people out
Very poor communication with the customer. Calls are never returned. Horrible automated answering system with annoying hold music. Receptionists work from home and are not in the office to know what’s actually going on or who is there. To make matters worse, the Sun Power solar storage system they sold me doesn’t function, continually shuts itself off. The units are built in the Philippines and local techs have to call them via video as they aren’t fully knowledgable of the system. They’ve been trying to repair it for over a year. I suggest that if anyone is serious about a quality solar system and company that stands behind it to look somewhere else.
Renova has recently installed the solar panels on our home in Palm Desert. We can’t recommend them highly enough! They kept us updated and were on time installing and left no mess behind.
Brian Rodrigues was the crew chief for us. He answered every phone call in a timely fashion and always called us as to when workers would be arriving. We so appreciate his professional manner and happy nature! He deserves to be rewarded as an exceptional employee at Renova!!
I believe Renova being local gave us a very good experience.

Spent almost 60 grand on a system, less than 3 years ago. They have never contacted us for general maintenance. We noticed it wasn’t even working better than 50 percent. We called and asked for a cleaning, and were told then that they could see panels not working. One if they could see that ,why would they ignore it?? The cleaning was scheduled by drone on the 9th. Early morning on The 9th,we were called and told the drone broke. After no calls returned ,and huge lack of communication, called in today. They had the odasuty to ask if I would like to put in another work order. Now I’m angry! What happened to the first one?? Customer service w leaves alot to be desired . Highly DO NOT RECCOMEND. I also have another house that I lease thier equiptment, not once have I been contacted for maintenance of THIER equipment.. -3stars!!
Good luck getting a call back unless you are spending of course!!
Great service, Arnold was very helpful and knowledgeable. With the costs of SCE this is going to save me a lot of headaches. Renova Energy is the best local company.
feedback for upper management: create systems so that your reps can communicate with each other effectively. although my experience with the solar installation was great, i had several issues with the roofing side of the business. i want renova to succeed so i’m leaving 5 stars but i hope management sees this and reaches out for more thorough feedback. i was thoroughly disappointed with the sloppy, disjointed roofing work and will not be recommending the roofing side of the business like i have with the solar side. all i want is for y’all to do better so more people can get solar and stick with it. sincerely, kate ryan
Beware of Renova Energy. They sell a good game and fail to deliver at every turn. It was October of 2023 when we asked for a job quote. Got it very quickly along with two invoices for deposit which I promptly paid. Radio silence until I call in February and they admit they dropped the ball on obtaining permits. Was told the job would take 3-4 days. A couple of different crews, numerous inconveniences and they wrap up the job after almost a month. I get the final invoice before I even get a call to tell me they are done. The system is still not operating properly. Today I get a mechanics lean from Renova. They may be a large company but they operate like amateurs. Would not recommend this company unless it was someone I didn’t like and wanted to truly annoy.
We are very happy with Renova Energy from the sales team to the roofers and the solar installation team. Everyone was prompt, friendly, and very professional.
Big Job, slight delays, quality work, very happy customer! This project came in substantially less $$ than two competitive quotes. We had 38 panels and 3 powerwalls installed. One day delay with roofing and one day delay with electrical. They managed to get final inspection completed day of completion. System looks great and is running as expected.. solar power to spare :) Very communicative during entire process. Was a pleasure doing business with them.
My husband and I have been considering solar for our home in the desert for some time now. Our electric bill in the summer months is astronomical. I interviewed 3 companies and hands down, Renova energy came in as #1. One of their sales rep, Johnny Coladonato came to our home to educate us on solar. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, personable and professional. He explained everything in a way that we could understand. It did not feel like the kind of sales pitch that left you uncomfortable and not trusting. The process has been flawless. Renova has had our back the whole time even when some complications arose with the HOA. They actually answer the phone when you call and more importantly return a call when a message is left. My neighbors commented on how professional and responsible the installers have been. They did not miss a day. I’m looking forward to the savings . Thank you Renova Energy!
Renova is the best!
after interviewing six solar companies, and talking to friends, i decided Renova had the best quality product, service, history, and reputation, and they have not disappointed!
the installation and follow up, and continued service have been exemplary!
cory hartman, my sales rep, was informative, patient, friendly, and professional, and has since always been available when i have questions, or need anything! he is a credit to the company!
i have been 100% satisfied, and still say, as i said before,
“Renova is the best”!!!
I chose renova for our solar company because my original rep, Hayden, took the time to explain the system and our options clearly. After Hayden left our new rep, Shane, went above and beyond, answering all my calls and questions and making sure the installation and finalization of our purchase went smoothly. I am very happy with the service and follow up.
I had really great experience with Renova energy, I would recommend them for your solar system
Recently had an issue with the sun power app Renova uses. Down for a few days and could not see any solar activity. App said it could not provide the data. Not knowing if my system was down, I called customer service April 6 to be told by technician app had been down since March 25 which was confirmed by customer service 2 days later. I asked both reps of the company why an e mail had not been sent out to their customers informing us of the problem. Both seem confused by the question, but thought that was a good idea. This is not customer service. It showed Renova prefers to use our data information to promote their needs for specials and revenue vs address the customers already providing them revenue. Simple courtesy they could have extended and avoid useless calls to the customer service line.
Enrique was terrific but is gone now…keep your expectations low for Renova and you won’t be disappointed for customer service
Renova has caused many problems to our home since we’ve had our solar panels installed. The panels have gone off-line twice for about a six month period which has now cost us about $7000 in electricity bills. There was no notification that the panels were off-line. It was very difficult to get Renova to come out and even fix the problem and they have done nothing to try and cover the cost when this was something that was their fault. We have also had roof damage from where the panels were installed to independent roofers told us it was caused by Renova but again Renova except no responsibility I would use another company.
I want to start by saying my consultant Luis Zuniga and the staff at Renova are an amazing team. Everyone worked together to make sure project went as planed. We had a small hiccup and was address immediately. Renova really knows how to follow through. Overall I had a wonderful experience with Renova Energy and would recommend them to anyone wanting solar.

What We Didn’t Like

- Limited Geographic Availability: Currently, Renova Energy only provides services in California and Arizona, though they plan to expand to Nevada. This limited geographic availability may exclude potential customers outside these areas.
- Communication Issues: Some customers have reported issues with communication and customer service. While these instances seem to be the exception rather than the rule, they are worth noting.
- High Upfront Costs: Like many renewable energy solutions, there may be high upfront costs associated with installing a solar system.
Our Recommendation
Based on our research and the overwhelmingly positive customer reviews, we would recommend Renova Energy to anyone considering a switch to solar energy in California or Arizona. The company’s commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and sustainability sets it apart in the renewable energy sector.
However, as with any significant investment, we advise potential customers to do their own research, consider their specific needs, and consult with Renova Energy directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Renova Energy shines bright in the solar industry, offering a beacon of renewable energy that promises to illuminate a sustainable future.
