Our Certasun team is a great job and the system is running well. We only had two issues. One: Somehow the installers damaged a piece of gutter. (Certasun did credit me for the damage.) Two: There was some kind of permitting problem that delayed the turn on date a couple of weeks. Other than that, they installers were terrific and the management team kept in contact with me throughout. I would recommend Certasun for anyone looking for a good solar system.

I highly recommend Certasun for solar installation. I had a great experience with this dealer from the beginning till the end. Their team is well managed and I did not have any issue through the process. Their price is reasonable and quality is good. The end result is great. Knowing that my house is powered by solar energy now just feels good!

Excellent service and installation! Love the system and it looks and works amazing

We worked with Certasun on two projects. The first was for solar panel installations, which went well. We even recommended them to a friend and decided to hire them back to install an EV wall connector for us, figuring it would be easier working with the same company, right? WRONG.

This whole process started with a site assessment. Weeks later the installers showed up and we shared what we learned during the site assessment, indicating that there should be an assessment report with more details, and let them get to work. By the end of the job they plugged in the cable and realized they had placed the charger in an area where the cord could not reach the car. HAH! To which their response was “can’t do anything about it, the job is complete, call the main office”.

Upon calling the office and several follow-ups later, we finally got told that the workers said we specifically told them we wanted the charger in the exact spot it was installed and that we were “adamant” about it. I’ve been in a customer service role before and I know it’s scary when you make a mistake. However, to lie and then for the company to try to gaslight us into believing this was our fault… that we didn’t buy the wall connector through them and, therefore, the workers didn’t know how long the cord was? (Says it right on the box) We were relying on their expertise and professionalism and were let down.

At the end they offered us two options: 1. Pay for another installation to relocate the wall connector, or 2. Buy an extension cord. Obviously, the latter was the easier choice but we would have to pay another $250 for the extension cord… on top of the wall connector and the installation we already paid for. We eventually went with option 2 since Certasun said the full amount would still come under the max amount through the rebate program offered by ComEd.

Come time for the rebate program application… they said we’d need to be on Hourly pricing to qualify for the rebate, which I followed up immediately and sent over email confirmation from ComEd. Another week went by and upon following up, we were now told that that we are waitlisted and the funding may run out.

The whole process was expensive, difficult and disappointing.

This was great for years until the squirrels got to the panels. (request critter guards if that could be an issue for you) Once they took the majority of the panels to be repaired, my ComEd service was suspeneded. Then they scheduled three times, and no-showed, to replace the panels that had been repaired. I understand the last time – it was extremely hot – but someone from the office should have called to let me know. I fault the scheduler at the office for this. Other than that the product is great and the crews that come out are super. Five stars for these people and zero stars for their scheduler.

Certasun installed our solar panels on the roof and as far as I can tell, did a great job. The day they installed it, it was pouring rain on and off, but they finished the install and I did not see any leaks at all. Very courteous and professional throughout the entire process as well. Would definitely recommend them!

Contacted and contracted company to install charger and 240. Absolutely no communication after receiving my deposit (1000.00). Never once did I receive any communication regarding the status of a permit or date of installation, nothing!! It’s now 2 months later and I receive an email notifying me that the ComEd rebate is no longer eligible. It was no longer eligible because the company took 2 months to finish or should I say start since they haven’t even started yet. Now I have to pay the whole amount because the company was incompetent and didn’t finish my project on time. Stay away

From the first contact with the salesperson, Jon Kroft, to the final installation and inspection, Certasun was most professional. Liv Clafford, the project coordinator, kept us well informed of every step along the process which was completed well ahead of proposed scheduled date.

Awesome experience!! right from educating the solar energy concept, to a step by step process of calculating the need and design of the system. Very Professional team, helped in getting the required permits and the installation team was on the dot in terms of delivering what they promised. Would definitely recommend Certasun!!!

Certasun has installed two ev chargers and solar on my roof. Each process from A-to-Z was completely painless, transparent, and simple. if you want the best solar panels on the market and a painless process, go with Certasun.

Certasun was absolutely fabulous to work with for our home solar project! The office staff, sales staff, and installation crew are all top notch. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else if you are considering adding solar to your home.

I contacted 3 solar companies around Milwaukee in mid-2022 and went with CertaSun partly from the great information and friendly demeanor of Paul, but also the quality of their products. We had a great experience all the way through! We were warned that Milwaukee and WE Energies can take some time for permits. But once that cleared, everything went as well as it could. Our installation was interrupted by the blizzard around Christmas 2022, but the team was great and did a good job on the install. The system has been running for over a year now and has been great! I love checking the app to see how our production is. (Attached is a pic from the solar eclipse – pretty wild impact, the orange is our solar production. The black line is our home use and I was charging the Tesla before the eclipse.) No issues at all, producing as expected, and selling back to WE Energies. Great company that I would definitely recommend!

Had solar installed back in Oct 2023 on a 4 week old roof. The team was very nice. I got the whole crew donuts and coffee. They seemed like a happy crew and experienced crew… A few negatives were 1) They didn’t have any portable lights for the attic, so I lent them some of mine. 2) Quite a few shouted questionable jokes shouted between the guys. 3) One guy was shouted at and threatened to do something or lose his job.

Today, April 2024, I went on my roof to inspect everything after winter. I discovered 2 clusters of holes and some damaged shingles messily covered in caulk, one had a hole that was completely uncovered straight into my attic. So I went through winter with a hole in my new roof… just great… I emailed pictures to their customer support and called their customer service number that Saturday afternoon…. they tried to call their 2 on call contacts with no luck.

24 hours later I got a call that someone would be out tomorrow, Monday morning at 0730. I waited to 0830 and no one showed up, so I went to work. When I got to work, I got a call from a very nice gentleman that said he just arrived onsite. He said he was late because he only found out about this visit in the early morning. He noted the forman that did my job was let go because of similar problems at other sites. The holes were apparently for a safety harnesses even though I never witnessed anyone using a rope… He said that most of the holes were patched to their process except the shingle with the exposed hole. He said he corrected it and sent pics of their process. He also did a quick inspection of the install and everything was tight and looked OK to him.

Now I have to decide if I want to call my roofer back to replace those damaged shingles on my dime or live with that mess and hope it doesn’t fail in a couple years.

What I learned… Always inspect work done on you home, no matter how much you trust them.

Really great experience. They followed through as promised. Very quick response, very quick service, following the time guideline. They worked with ComEd, helped me with the rebates etc. Their app is pretty good, panels are pretty good as well producing really good energy as promised. I have had it for about 8 months and have no issues so far. They only thing they didn’t mention is that you are paying taxes for the rebate money you received and it was a lot (close to $4000 for $18,304 rebate that I received from the state).

I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

Really great experience. Talked with a lot solar companies and certasun was just different. They seemed to truly care about solar. Not just our money. Many compliments on look of the panels they use. 2 thumbs up!!b

Certasun is an outstanding company to work with. During my bidding process, I did consult with other solar installers. Certasun was by far the best value for my particular project, and after going through the entire process, I’m very happy we chose them. From the very beginning, I felt comfortable working with their salesman, and that level of comfort carried over to their customer service and installers. I was readily kept updated throughout the entire process from accepting their proposal, establishing a loan, the permitting phase, and ultimately the installation and going live on the grid. I’d highly recommend Certasun for your solar project because you’re getting a company with the knowledge, professionalism, as well as friendliness that you deserve.

Would give 0 stars if I could would not recommend this company for solar. Sales people are rude, they will lie and try to tell you whatever you want to hear to try and get you to buy from them, they will lie to you and say they can give you a better price when in reality it’s going to be more expensive. If you are from the north shore or surrounding areas I would go with a different company, they play to many games and sales people only care about getting you to sign the solar contract. They don’t care about building a relationship with customers. If you are thinking about going with this company or are about to sign a contract with them I would run as far as you can and go somewhere else and most the reviews on their page are fake reviews or posted from bots. Save your money and yourself a headache and just go buy from somewhere else. When buying solar the best advice I have is if you don’t like your rep don’t go with them because 99% of the time they just want you to sign the contract and they don’t care about you and just want to be paid. Go somewhere where the representative actually cares about you and takes time out their day to talk to you and give you all the information and they aren’t rude.
